It is with great regret that Area51 announces that one of our own has fallen. *Area51* DMD has passed away today August 19,2010, a great man, friend, father, person. Those that knew him always had something wonderful to say. We will miss him deeply. Lets keep him and his family in our thoughts and prayers in this time of grievance.

The new IP address and/or hostnames are: 70.85.251.61 lego.pure-voice.net You may input either one (I suggest using the IP address) into the host name field in Ventrilo Setup screen. The Hunt

Due to popular demand. The Hunt spawn mod has been reinstated as of 02/09/2010. I would just like to point out that this mod will tend to cause lag at the beginning of each round. However the lag should subside within the first minute of the round. For all that do not know what this mod entails, read on. The mod monitors the five closest axis spawns and will respawn a player further back if they happen to get one of the five close spawns. Also, for the allies all spawn points have been moved to approximately half way down the dirt road instead of at the very end. In addition, on the allies side there are now some mines in place to prevent people from camping at the very end of the dirt road. This mod shifts the battle between allies and axis, and for the most part removes the axis nade spam that exists in the stock Hunt map. Enjoy! Add comment (1) Hits: 423

Forums Bridge

The bridge that joined the Main site users with the Forums users, has been disabled. Too many errors were occuring in the back end. I also know firsthand of people experiencing issues with logging in and logging out. So once again there will be two separate databases for users of the main site and users of the forums. This shouldn't have any affect on anyone already registered. In the forums I have also enabled a new feature, highslide. This will let users click on an attachment image or an inline image and show the larger version of the thumbnail. The mod will automatically resize the image to fit your screen, however you can click on a menu button on the top right and choose to veiw the image in full size resolution. Forums are also full size of your browser window.

The errors in the backend were constant. In the last 10 days, the forum log generated 74 pages of errors (1624 in total), mostly due to people having an incorrect password. In fact it was not an incorrect password but an incorrect script trying to bridge the two databases together. And that was just the last 10 days. Ridiculous. Maybe in the future if the bridge gets developed further, I can address that option again. For now it's done.
